How Do You Find New Apps?

I have over 12,000 songs in my music collection, which sits on an external hard drive.  I recently bought a new iTouch and after I was done loading it, it had about 6,500 songs on it.  So when I’m in the car, I typically just keep the iTouch on random except when the kids are around as they have their own playlist.

Since I don’t listen to the radio, I rely on a few friends to introduce me to new music. In fact, I am lucky enough that the King of Free Form Radio, Rich Russo, is a good friend and emails me the playlists from his radio shows each Monday morning.  But still, I don’t add new music that often to my collection because I am very happy with what I have.

I could say the same thing about the apps on my smartphone.  I am happy with what I have and don’t really seek new ones that often.  However, new apps are being introduced daily and while many wouldn’t change my life one way or another, there are a select few that are worthy of download.

Like with music, I rely on my friends and their suggestions for new apps for sports, music, or social media, and of course, my kids insist on the latest from Disney.  But for apps relating to corporate real estate, I relied on one source, CRE Apps Review.

And today, that source has expanded its platform.

CRE App Review was focused strictly on reviewing apps, hence the name.  As of today’s announcement, it’s re-launching as Real Estate Tech News (  With a newly branded and designed site, Real Estate Tech News will continue to provide reviews of new apps, which I find critical, but will also be a hub for all news related to the tech explosion currently happening in both commercial and residential real estate.

As part of The News Funnel family, the site will quickly become a must read for anyone interested in learning about the latest apps, start-ups, trends, and tools available within our industry.

If I missed hearing the new John Mellencamp album, my life wouldn’t be measurably different.  But if I had never been introduced to Hightower, it would be.

There’s always so much new music out there to consume and so many new apps and tech sites.  Weeding through all of it to find something that you like musically, or something that will help your business, isn’t easy.  Having trusted resources is the key and I look forward to seeing the evolution of CRE Apps Review in to Real Estate Tech News.
